Compliance with maritime classification requirements
Ships approved under a maritime class must undergo docking at least every 2,5 years. After five years, rudders, rudder stocks, and thrusters require dismantling for wear inspection. Our specialists ensure that this process runs smoothly and complies with all legal standards.
Example project: MV Simon Stevin
As part of a five-yearly dry-docking inspection, extensive maintenance tasks were performed onboard the Flemish Community’s research vessel. Key tasks included: installing a new blister for measurement equipment, repairing collision damage to the bow, dismantling and inspecting propellors, rudders, and thruster shafts with specialized bearings of the diesel-electric powered ship.
The entire worklist was completed within the set deadline.
