For three decades Gardec has been the official service partner of Anglo Belgian Corporation (ABC) in Zeebrugge. We maintain, overhaul, and repair ABC marine engines, both alongside our own quay and on-site. Because we combine engine work with full mechanical and structural ship maintenance in our 3000-ton floating dry dock, a stop at Gardec truly is a one-stop shop.
ABC: Powerful engines, a legacy of innovation
ABC is Europe’s oldest privately owned engine builder, founded in 1912 and co-founded by Rudolf Diesel himself. Today the company designs and manufactures medium-speed diesel, gas, and dual-fuel (e.g. diesel-hydrogen) engines for shipping, rail, power generation, and turnkey power plants worldwide.
Since joining the OGEPAR industrial group in 1985, ABC has grown into a global player. Its engines are built for heavy, continuous duty, with straightforward maintenance and solid reliability.
An ABC engine is expected to run at least 30 years, day after day, making sustainability and strong service partners crucial.

Our flexible team knows every ABC model inside and out, from 8MDZ and 6MDZ units on fishing vessels and tugs to 6MDX engines on pilot boats.
Beyond routine maintenance and full overhauls we handle complex refits such as block replacements.
Rapid response across North-West Europe
With fully equipped service vans and a substantial inventory of genuine OEM parts, our specialist teams can be on site in any North-West European port at short notice. We deliver on-board technical support, even for complex overhauls or urgent interventions.
Our close partnership with ABC means any original spare part we do not hold can be dispatched and delivered to your vessel within hours. Because most parts are already on the shelf, we react instantly to emergency call-outs, carrying out repairs and hand-overs with no downtime.
