Offshore blade frame
We were awarded contractcommissioned in early 2016 to produce an offshore structure in record time for storing wind turbine blades on board a crane ship.
The entire structure consisted of 2 towers which were positioned immediately behind the accommodation and 1 large platform that protruded above the ship’s side stern.
We also had to fit a gantry on the rear platform so that the blades could be safely and easily secured.
Given the deck layout, this did not seem to be a straightforward task. Nevertheless, we found a good solution.
We welded the entire structure to the deck in the port of Ostend.
